AN ANCHOR OF HOPE: TIDES OF GRACE NAMES NEWLY FOUNDED CRISIS ROOM AFTER J29.

In December of 2025, Tides of Grace honored J29’s philanthropic efforts by naming their newly founded Crisis Room after the company as a thank you for their continuous support over the year.

Tides of Grace has supported their neighbors for 3 years through local events and initiatives such as community baby showers, toy and clothing drives, pop-up boutiques, and more.

On J29’s most recent visit in February of 2026, founder, Tracy Mills, and Community Impact Coordinator, Camille Schachtele, had the pleasure of visiting Leann Rhodes-Ickes, Founder, and the newly created Crisis Room. Tracy, a Maryland native, has been involved with Tides of Grace since February of 2023 when J29 donated to their Easter basket drive.

“The money J29 has provided to Tides of Grace has helped us with specific community needs, and meeting those needs within a week,” said Ashley Durant, a frequent Tides of Grace volunteer. “We can meet general needs through the Crisis Room, but these funds let us expand our outreach, build trust in the community, and go the extra mile.”

The J29 Crisis Room is open every Thursday from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. and provides resources to aid during difficult times. Community members are able to visit and receive access to a variety of supplies such as: household essentials, hygiene and toiletry items, baby formula, diapers and wipes, food, and much more with open arms and no judgement.

About Tides of Grace

Tides of Grace is a community resource center located on the eastern shore of Maryland, serving over 3,000 families in 2025. Their efforts span 5 counties and ensure community members are able to receive assistance in the belief that no one should face hardship alone.

In 2025 alone, their efforts assisted 136 crisis situations, largely through the power of social media – posting needs on Facebook and allowing their community to donate items for individuals and families in need.

“Saying the first ‘I need help’ is the hardest part,” said Leann. “It feels great when people come back knowing they can get additional resources, and we will be there to help them.”

J29 was founded on the belief that empowered people empower others, and that through dedicating time to serve others, we can create hope for the future. The J29 family is honored to have the crisis room named after them, and is looking forward to continue supporting Tides of Grace for years to come.
