J29 Secures $11.8 Million Contract to Support the CMS National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI)

Millersville, Maryland — After a competitive selection process, J29 Inc is delighted to confirm its successful award of the National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) contract, following the resolution of competitor protests. The contract, with a total value of $11.8 million, includes a base year and four optional periods, making it a potential five-year partnership with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and J29.

The NCCI program, overseen and owned by CMS, plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate and consistent coding practices for Medicare and Medicaid claims. NCCI works to ensure that providers receive fair and consistent payments in alignment with the payment policies of these vital healthcare programs. Moreover, the program assists CMS and states in meeting the Medicaid program requirements mandated by section 6507 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

Tracy Mills, Founder and CEO of J29, expressed her enthusiasm for this significant contract win, saying, “We are honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of supporting the CMS National Correct Coding Initiative. At J29, we are deeply committed to the values of accuracy, quality, and service excellence. This contract aligns perfectly with our mission to provide value-driven, people-centric solutions that make a difference in the healthcare sector.”

The NCCI contract win also follows three recent J29 prime contract wins to support agencies the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE).

J29’s success in securing the NCCI contract reflects the company’s dedication to fostering a positive company culture, empowering its employees, and giving back to the community. These principles have undoubtedly contributed to J29’s track record of delivering innovative and high-quality services to government agencies.

Over the five-year period of this contract, J29 will work closely with CMS to maintain and expand the NCCI correct coding edits and methodologies. The goal is to ensure that healthcare coding and adjudication remain consistent, ultimately benefiting providers, patients, and the healthcare system as a whole.

As J29 takes on this important endeavor, the company remains committed to its motto: “Work Hard and Be Nice to People.” This approach underscores their belief that by investing in their employees and creating a healthy work-life balance, they can continue to exceed client expectations and contribute positively to the healthcare community.
